Who are you?
I am Sophie Cassai. I have been in the TV industry for nearly 15 years now. I have lived an incredible life being on social media and in the reality TV world, but there's also another side that people don't see, and that is actually the real Sophie Cassai, and that is just me at home watering my plants, being with my partner, and just doing lovely, wholesome family things.
What was life like before Geordie Shore?
Life before Jodi Shaw was quite normal. I worked in call centres as well as was a hairdresser. I was always just living life. I was travelling abroad. I lived in Malo. I had so much fun. And I generally believe my life before Jodi Shaw was so amazing and the fact of never having to worry about the way I looked or the way I behaved, or being judged or worrying about other people's opinions, that is the part of us that I do miss the time before Jodi Shaw. And just the freedom that I used to have of just being myself without being judged really.
Do you feel that young people are equipped and supported well enough for being thrusted into fame?
I think the world has changed now with fame. When I first started, Jo Sho was probably, we weren't really educated on how to deal with the success of fame very quickly, or money management, or just life management really. But I think since Jo Sho, there's so many other reality TV shows out there, and I think the world is just so, so different. When I first started Joie, we didn't really have much social media. The biggest thing we had was Facebook and a lot of media and press we had. But I think now the industry's changed a lot. I think it is a little bit sensitive, and I do think things are very different and I think cancer culture is scary now, and I think people wanting to go into reality TV and wanting fame. So you say, I think you've just got to think about it a lot because it is probably not all what it seems.
