Who are you?
I am Verity bdi, so I am a Pilates instructor. I have an on-demand global Pilates platform that you can access anywhere in the entire world. And I'm from Dset, so I'm from the countryside. I love animals. I live in London. I live in Portella Road. I absolutely love it there. It's so quirky and eccentric, full of energy. I'm presenter on TV and I love helping founders, and I love people connecting to their wellbeing and just trying to get people to have a better life.
How do you care for your mind and body daily?
So every day I make sure that I take time for myself, which is something I used to be so bad at doing. I used to rush through life a million miles an hour, and now I'm just trying to slow down. And that has helped me so much to really think about what I'm eating every day, thinking about my wellbeing, thinking about my skincare. I never even used to take my makeup off. I was terrible. And now I'm just really trying to take time for myself and put myself kind of be a little bit selfish these days because if you are not looking after yourself, then you're not going to look after other people. So I really try and take time for myself in every aspect, and I have to move my body, honestly, even if it's just 15 minutes, it changes me. I'm a different human. So yeah, definitely move my body and just really taking time for myself every day and saying, no, you don't have to say yes to everything. I think saying no is actually one of the best things you can do. And then really think if you want to do something, instead of saying yes to everything and rushing around like a bit of a busy idiot. So yeah, slowing down in life is definitely what I'm doing these days.
When did you first feel exercise shift your mood?
So I have always loved exercising since I can remember. I just love being outdoors. I love being out in nature, and it's just something that I've always done since I was younger and I really started getting into running when I was about 16. I guess I just used to run and run and run, I think because it was just so, I didn't do it to keep my weight off or anything. I just did it. I loved it. I loved the escapism. I love no one being able to talk to me, just being in my bubble and just being with my thoughts and coming up with creative ideas. So definitely I've always been into moving my body. And then ever since then, I mean, I guess it's kind of addictive. These endorphins that you create, I just crave them. I know how amazing it can make me feel. So always have loved moving my body, and even today, I love moving my body.
